Bernard has a long history with copper, dating back to his early teens in Burgundy, France when he would recuperate the copper wires out of junkyard-destined radios to create sculptures.

During the mid-80's in southern California, Bernard started creating one-of-a-kind copper lighting,  sculptures, indoor and outdoor décor as well as many unique copper weather vanes which can still be seen in the Venice Beach and west side  of Los Angeles.

This passion was the start of the company Bernard Collin & Co.  in 1987, where for over twelve years Bernard and Mary had a 'handcraft production' of copper and iron lighting.  They sold this company in 2000 to move back to France.  Currently Bernard and his family are once again in southern California (hence the name Irony),  and Bernard is continuing his copper craftsmanship with occasional wall art and sculptures.
